一、突破口语入门教学,克服方言影响

首先,掌握好26个字母的准确发音,尤其要熟记含有共同元音音素的字母。在平时的学习过程中,一定要读准单词,尤其要注意分辨长元音和短元音,单词重音也不可忽视。再次,平时注意加强数字、年、月、日、时刻、电话号码、身份证号码的朗读方法和技巧方面的训练。

二、兴趣是最好的老师

只有激发了学生的兴趣,才能调动学生的学习热情,才会增强求知欲,树立学习的信心。当学生有点滴的进步,教师都要及时鼓励和肯定。当学生在口语或发音表达有困难时多用“Tryagain!Yourpronuncia-tionismuchbetterthanbefore.”等鼓励性语言,这样可提高学生学习语言的积极性和主动性,使学生能在自然的语言的环境中得到更多的鼓励和锻炼,将所学知识直接运用于交际活动中。

三、强化听力训练,提高交际能力

在实际生活中,学生往往难以控制所听材料的语速、语言清晰度以及说话人的语言特点等。因此要做到在有限的时间内准确地理解并掌握说话人的意思是一项有难度的学习任务。首先,强化听力训练。听的能力不仅与听的技巧及其熟练程度直接有关,而且与听者的语言能力、文化知识以及思维能力密切相关。因而提高听的能力的过程是一个不断发展技巧、丰富知识并同时锻炼分析、推理能力的综合性训练和实践的过程。平时应强化听力训练,如,单词辨音、句子理解和反应、对话理解和短文理解。听的过程中,一定要听准听清,注意辨别那些极易混淆的词或短语。

(1)创设情景,激发学生的兴趣 兴趣是最好的老师,兴趣与教学的成败是有密切联系的。心理语言学认为,语言学习与人的情感因素有着密不可分的联系。在课堂上组织口语活动小组,回答问题、讲故事、复述故事、学唱英文歌等方式丰富课堂内容,不断给学生表达的机会,不断给学生新的刺激,培养他们对口语表达的浓厚兴趣。

(2)利用课外对话,增强学生自信 利用课内说英语是不够的,还要鼓励他们课外交际时也要说英语。这既为他们提供了大量用英语交流的机会和环境,也避免了个别学生因人多而胆怯的心理,克服心理上的障碍。在课外可以开展丰富多彩的活动,如办英语角、学唱英文歌曲。语言不是靠教出来的,而是靠平时练出来的。因此只有通过各种途径进行大量的练习,英语口语表达能力才能更上一层楼。

(2)利用课外对话,增强学生自信 外语教学最有害的缺点是教师讲得太多,学生练得太少,试图以教代学,结果是什么也没学到。教师利用教学艺术,根据学生的好胜心、兴趣、爱好和求知欲,把所学的内容用多种练习方式,启发学生思维,积极主动地进行创造性地学习。要做到这些,教师要精心地设计。在课堂上,教师可以把课文改编成短剧式的对话,让学生们来表演。背诵范文是我国传统的学习方法,它可以积累语言精华,有助于指导语言实践。在教学中,教师可以根据不同的情况,开展不同方式的教学。

(3)设计不同的考核方式 对于英语口语的考核形式应该是多种多样的,不管是一对一,还是一对多,都以检验出学生真实的英语口语水平为目的。在对英语口语考核时,能对其录音,并让让没有教过本班课程的英语老师根据录音中的表现给出客观的分数。对于学生不同的语言阶段应采取不同的考核手段。

听,说,读,写,是学习语言最自然的过程,就像我们从小学母语一样。所以学英语也该先从听说入手。在确定学习目标和方法前,有两项工作不可忽视:

首先,确定你自己的英语水平。中国学生的通病是,书面阅读还可以,口语不行,听力很差,书写凑合。但每个人具体情况又都不一样,有人阅读专业书一目十行,但读报纸很费劲。有人听新闻可以,听别的不行。你必须首先了解自己,然后针对你的情况对症下药。这种评估工作最好找英语好的人帮你做。

其次,确定自己的发音水平。有个中学生对我说他的发音没问题,可实际上他说的很多词我都听不懂。你学的是英国音还是美国音都无所谓,反正最终从你嘴里出来的肯定是中国音。最重要的是发音要合理。英语每一个单词都有自己的念法,你不能凭空想象。

在深刻了解自身情况后,我们学习英语口语的第一步是要选一本好的口语教材。大家不要小看教材的作用。某著名大学已为该校教师开办多期口语班,均由外教授课,但几乎没有一期是成功的。原因就在于高估了该校教师的口语水平,从来没有采用基础的口语教材系统教授。可怜这些硕士博士,到现在还不会开口说英语。外教就更不幸,每次问“Any volunteer?”大家都低头“沉默是金”,可怜这位白胡子老头竟然要抛球决定由谁回答!与“沉默是金”相反,有人非常敢说,随便逮个人就乱说一气。我有个朋友就是这样,经常会问我“Do you want to talk to me tomorrow?”,语气就像自己是什么大明星。时间他是花了不少,英语沙龙更是每晚必到,说得也很流利了,但他的口语怎么听怎么别扭。为什么?就因为他只愿意与人聊天,而从不肯好好背一下他买的那一大堆口语书中的句型。

英语绝不是你想怎么说就怎么说的,很多表达都有其固定的方式,因此想要学好口语,就至少要学上一套系统的口语教材。

【第一步:把你的根基搭建起来】

要记住,口语是输出!打算突破口语的时候,请问问自己的词汇,阅读,听力,是否已经有相对应的积累。没有词汇,意味着你能表达的内容将会大大受限;没有阅读,意味着你看得太少,自然不懂得表达;没有听力,人家说什么你都听不明白,口语怎么提高?

词汇和阅读,我已经在《如何迅速提高阅读能力》里提到过,这里不再说多。感兴趣的的同学可以回去看看。

在这里说说听力。

不知道什么时候,外面盛传一种听力提高方法——每天无意识地听N小时英文广播,就会变成听力巨牛的人。

这种方法非常扯淡,要提高听力的关键在于“互动”,就是你必须回馈你所听到的东西,要去确认你是否听到,听对,听漏;无意识的学习是很浪费时间的,尤其是对于“没有多少时间的成年人”。泛听要有,但至少也要脑子不停地过一下到底人家讲什么了!我的泛听材料是一个哲学节目,叫做PhilosophizeThis!很好玩的节目,比听新闻好玩多了。

【第二步:口语,从正确说话开始】

江苏省教育厅从起,全省中考实行英语听力口语自动化考试,也就是采取人机对话的形式,在这样的考试模式下,英语口语教学越来越受到重视,怎样提高学生真正的口语水平值得我们每一个英语老师去认真地思索。 反思我几年来的口语教学实践,主要强调以下几点:

一、进行有意识的模仿练习,增强学生复述能力

神经语言学研究表明,不论是什么年龄开始学外语,都要经历与小孩呀呀学语相似的阶段。因而模仿对口语学习十分重要。模仿练习可以采取听、读、背等各种方式。而复述是高级模仿,复述主要是在原材料的基础上把大意说出来。让学生复述教材里的课文,或讲故事,要求学生抓住文中的几个要素,即时间、地点、人物、事件、起因和经过。复述较长的课文时,我通常都会作一个口头示范,让学生有效地模拟。复述练习能使学生更好地掌握所述材料的语言精华,增强知识,减少中式英语,提高口头表达能力。

二、设计各种课堂活动,让每一个学生敢说、愿说

李阳认为“英语是说出来的。”但在我们这样的农村中学,由于经学生思想单纯、性格内向等种种原因,英语口语课堂经常会出现冷场。

孔子曰:“知之者不如好之者,好之者不如乐之者。”“乐”即兴趣,“兴趣是最好的老师”,人在对某事物有着浓厚兴趣的时候,往往会产生强烈的探求欲望。于是我每天利用上课前的5分钟,让一个同学在全班同学面前做一个1~2分钟的“Talk show”,内容不限,可以是故事、笑话、演讲等,其他同学必须认真倾听,讲完后指出其中的语音或语法错误,老师也要作适当的评价,并打一个分数作为口语的平时成绩。例如,在学习9A Unit5 Audrey Hepburn 时,我鼓励学生上网搜索,找出与课文有关的内容,这样既预习了课文,又提高了他们对课文的兴趣。在本单元结束时,我要求学生在网上下载名人的图片,并用自己的话来描述图片中的人物。学生选择的人物有盖茨、布什、姚明、刘翔、周杰伦、S.H.E等。说到盖茨时,学生是这样描述的:He is the richest man in the world. He is good at making money. He has many companies… 说到姚明,男生更有发言权:He is the best basketball player in the world. I like him best. He is the best one,虽然在表达中还有不完美的地方,但强烈的表现欲已经使他们充满自信,沉浸在学习的快乐中。

三、组织口语活动小组

“学生是学习的主体。”只有充分调动他们的学习积极性,才能全面的'挖掘他们的才能。调动学生的积极性,除了设计各种课堂活动之外,还要尊重学生的个性,兼顾到学生的个体差异。 因此在对学生进行深入分析后,我们把每个班级分成若干个4-5人的学习小组。在分组时,既考虑学生的性格、兴趣的特点,又注意到了男女搭配,基础差异,特别是选定小组长非常重要,既要口语基础好,有较好的表达能力,又要有较强组织能力。他们应该是老师和同学之间的一座桥梁,起着联络、沟通作用。小组各成员分工明确,听说两条线,给每个人开口说话的机会,让每个人都有做主人的自豪感。

四、在情境中进行英语口语教学

牛津英语教材紧密围绕学生的学校、家庭、社会等现实生活,为课堂教学和学生英语口语交际能力的提高提供了丰富的素材,生动有趣的素材又可以营造出一个个准英语环境,搭建一个个展示学生才华的舞台,使学生学习兴趣浓厚。如学生创设的情境:一群学生在公园里玩耍,公园里美丽的风景,干净的环境,同学们自觉爱护公园的一切,此时河中的小鱼引起大家的兴趣。瞧,同学们正在湖边观赏。对这一情境,同学们编了以下对话:

在进行口语训练时还要注意对学生要多给予积极的评价,营造宽容的课堂氛围,使学生敢说乐说。老师的评价与学生在口语课中的某些问题行为有直接的关系,所以在我们平时的教学中很注重评价的激励功能,并注意采用多种评价形式:

(1)既注重教师对学生的评价,又注重生生互评和学生的自我评价。教师对学生给予的及时充分的肯定和鼓励可以调动学生开口说英语的积极性,树立学好英语的自信心;而小组同学给予的肯定能够消除学生的恐惧心理;学生的自我评价则让学生有了充分认识和肯定自我的机会

(2)横向评价和纵向评价相结合。对各个学生进行横向评价,有利于学生认识自己的优势与不足;同时,也要注重学生发展过程中的纵向评价,对那些英语学习有困难的学生,应采用肯定的评价,帮助他们建立自信。

口语教学作为中学英语教学的有机组成部分,英语教师应有目的,有计划的在教学实践活动中有所重视和加强,这对于学生整体英语成绩的提高和思维能力的培养以及学生动口,动手,动脑能力和素质的发展都有着积极的指导和促进作用。口语教学不是一蹴而就的事,必须长期坚持。总之,如果要用一句话来概括英语口语的成功秘诀的话,那就是一句英语谚语“Practice makes perfect.”,它道出了英语口语教学与训练的真谛。

第一步:大量背诵原汁原味的单句、对话、生活习语。

1. Listen to yourself。

如果你听不到自己的发音问题,要纠正就很难了。试着把你将的话录下来并和英语为母语人士将的对比一下。应对雅思口语非常有效。

2. Slow down!

很多英语学习者常说语速太快容易养成他们的坏习惯。由于太快而模糊不清是口语考试的大忌。所以我们要accuracy 然后才是fluency,每天操练一些基本语言以单音节开始,然后单词,把几个词连在一起,组成句子。

3. Picture it。

4. Get physical!
