Its origin is too old to be traced. Several explanations are hanging around. All agree, however, that the word Nian, which in modern Chinese solely means “year”, was originally the name of a monster beast that started to prey on people the night before the beginning of a new year.

One legend goes that the beast Nian had a very big mouth that would swallow a great many people with one bite. People were very scared. One day, an old man came to their rescue, offering to subdue Nian. To Nian he said, “I hear say that you are very capable, but can you swallow the other beasts of prey on earth instead of people who are by no means of your worthy opponents?” So, it did swallow many of the beasts of prey on earth that also harassed people and their domestic animals from time to time.

After that, the old man disappeared riding the beast Nian. He turned out to be an immortal god. Now that Nian is gone and other beasts of prey are also scared into forests, people begin to enjoy their peaceful life. Before the old man left, he had told people to put up red paper decorations on their windows and doors at each years end to scare away Nian in case it sneaked back again, because red is the color the beast feared the most.

From then on, the tradition of observing the conquest of Nian is carried on from generation to generation. The term “Guo Nian”, which may mean “Survive the Nian” becomes today “Celebrate the (New) Year” as the word “guo” in Chinese having both the meaning of “pass-over” and “observe”. The custom of putting up red paper and firing fire-crackers to scare away Nian should it have a chance to run loose is still around. However, people today have long forgotten why they are doing all this, except that they feel the color and the sound add to the excitement of the celebration.

从小我就和我弟弟不一样。

【材料分析】

画面中有2个学生，左侧的学生A第一次成绩是100分，第二次成绩是98分;右侧的学生B第一次成绩是55分，第二次的成绩是61分。

评价者(家长或者老师)在一次的评判中，给了学生A一个吻，给了学生B一巴掌，即褒奖了分数较高的学生A，批评了分数低的学生B。但第二次的评判和第一次完全不同，学生A虽然取得较高的分数，但是由于成绩下降挨了巴掌，而学生B虽然分数差但是因为有了微小的进步获得了表扬。

【立意角度及素材】

立意一：从评判者的.角度，言说这种标准的正确性——不是以静态停滞，而是动态发展的眼光来评价，在主观中具有一定的客观性，且这种标准在社会上拥有一定市场，易于鼓励努力向上的“后进”，督促自我满足的“先进”;

立意二(推荐)：作为评判者，在评价任何事物的时候，都应该尽量坚守全面、客观、理性的原则，竭力摒弃个人的主观因素。这种主观因素的体现，不仅仅是个人的好恶，也包含着一个人脑海中固有的印象。作为评价者，尽管在评价时要参考评价对象既往的情况，但不能将具体的、个别的情况发展为一种概念性的印象，导致评价标准的模糊，而这难免会有“挫伤被评价对象积极性”或“鼓励被评价对象投机行为”的情况发生(比如“先进”者只是一时疏忽，而“后进”者此前未必努力，等等)。
