In recent years more and more high school students study abroad during the holidays.
Studying abroad is beneficial to them. First of all, it will open their mind and enrich their experience. In addition, it is a good chance to learn new culture and make new friends, which can improve their communication skills. However, it will take parents a lot of money to send their children abroad. And some students prefer traveling to learning. So it is a waste of money and absolutely not worthwhile.
Personally, studying abroad can help students broaden their horizons and learn to be independent. But I think it will be better for them to study abroad when they are old enough to support themselves financially.

In my opinion, it is a good thing that more Chinese people go abroad. There are three reasons. First, the overseas learners can improve their ability through the study. Second, with the rapid development of China, more and more overseas learners will choose come back, using their abundant knowledge studied abroad to serve for the motherland. The third, the government and most domestic enterprises are willing to provide favorable treatments to attract them to come back.
For the above reasons, I think it is not a bad thing for more and more Chinese study abroad.

As students of today have to pay much attention to our lessons and know little of society though its not our fault.A holiday is the best time to make up for that.Taking a part-time job is a good form of social practice.What is learned in books cant have the same deep effect on us as what is learned through experience.In social practice,we can surely make progrein both knowledge and ability.Besides,taking a part-time job,we may get paid more or leto help our family.

Though the demerits of gap year can be easily recognized,the merits of it are obviously helpful for the growing of youth.When giving more attention to the demerits of the gap year,the young students can get benefits marginally from the gap year from which the young students will foster sense of independence and life responsibility finally.
